 OSLHA Student Mentorship Program

Mission:  
The Ohio Speech-Language-Hearing Association is sponsoring a pilot Student Mentoring Program. The program is being implemented to provide early opportunities for students to become involved within the state professional organization.

Goals of the Program:
1.   Provide an educational experience that serves to enhance the students' awareness, knowledge and skills about timely professional issues and supplements their current educational experience.

2.   Introduce students to the organizational structure, operation and importance of professional organizations

3.  Begin to prepare students for possible leadership positions within their professional organizations

4.   Support the transition from student to professional

Mentorship Program:
Students and mentors will be matched and will develop a plan for the current fiscal year. The plan will be tailored to match student interest and time constraints.

Each student and mentor will provide feedback to the Executive Council about his/her experience.

Who Can Participate?:
Any undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in one of the Ohio university communication sciences and disorders programs (speech-language pathology,  speech, language, hearing science, or audiology).

AND

A student member of OSLHA.
