For Fun

  • The Your 3 Words event currently being promoted by the abc Network's Good Morning America (GMA) program provides inspiration for speech and hearing professionals or consumers to recognize a victory using only three (3) words.  Send us a video or pictures of your three words and we will publish it here during the month of May! View an Example and get Creative!

  • A great read for the month might be "Out of My Mind" by Sharon Draper.  It is the story of 11 year old Melody and her transition from being unable to speak to finally having a voice. Being stuck inside her head is making Melody go out of her mind—that is, until she discovers something that will allow her to speak for the first time ever. At last Melody has a voice . . . but not everyone around her is ready to hear it.

  • The song, "Speak to Me," was written by one of ASHA's staff members, Information Systems Director Mike Guerrieri. Mike was inspired to write this song primarily because of his mother and her struggles with a communications disorder. Read more about the story behind the song and perhaps you might be inspired to use your talent to produce a work of art to promote speech and hearing awareness.
