Chatter Matters! Communication Camp

Does your child, or a child you know, use Augmentative or Alternative Communication? Do you want to have fun as a family this summer? Apply to attend Chatter Matters! Communication Camp June 16th – 19th, 2022 at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
What is Chatter Matters!? Chatter Matters! Communication Camp is an overnight camp for children who use augmentative or alternative communication (AAC) and up to five of their immediate family members. Children and their families learn to improve communication using their devices while participating in traditional camp activities such as arts and crafts, adaptive sports, games, campfire and music, as well as continuing
education and family networking.
Who should attend?
● Children ages 5 to 15 years who use AAC (e.g., Tobii DynaVox, Vantage Lite, iPad with AAC applications, Proloquo2Go, etc.)
● At least one parent/guardian seeking to learn more about AAC, in general, and their child’s use of AAC in particular, who will attend the entire camp with them
● Immediate family members (up to six, including the AAC user and at least one parent/guardian)
● Families who want to have fun while improving their general communication competency using AAC!
How do you apply?
Applications are available online. Please visit our website https://www.uww.edu/ce/camps/additional/chatter to
download an application. Your child’s Speech-Language Pathologist will need to complete a portion of the application. Applications are accepted until January 24, 2022. Applicants will be notified if they have been selected to attend camp by February 11th, 2022. See the website for scholarship opportunities.
