In December our Connections Corner Session will be Breaking into the NICU! Digging Deeper into Interdisciplinary Collaboration for Successful Program Development.
Guest hosts will be Katie Bochi M.A., CCC-SLP – University of Toledo, 9 years practicing clinician and Hannah Talton OTD, OTR/L, NTMTC – Creighton University, 5 years practicing clinician.
Katie Bochi, SLP (current OSLHA President) and her highly respected colleague Hannah Talton, OT have spent the last 4 years in a Level III NICU embarking on an interdisciplinary collaborative undertaking targeting therapy presence and program development. Together they have navigated gaining trust in a protective unit culture, implementing automatic order sets for therapy involvement, providing staff and parent education, securing grants for program implementation, writing policy and procedures around developmental practices, and establishing a Developmental Care Committee with unit wide involvement focused on neuroprotective care for the hospital’s tiniest patients. As a team, they have “broken” into the NICU and cannot wait to share their passion and journey with you all at OSLHA’s Connections Corner!
Space will be available for the first 100 registrants who register and arrive for the session. Registration will close at 4:30 the day of the event or when the session reaches maximum capacity, whichever comes first!
