OSLHA’s Connections Corner–Free Online Event
November 17 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Our November Connections Corner Session Will Focus on Representation, Networking, Support, and Connection: How backing BIPOC clinicians elevates our profession.
Guest facilitators will be A’Niyah Brown and Amber Blaylock. A’Niyah Brown is a first-generation graduate of Hampton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders. She is currently a second-year graduate student attending Ohio State University pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology with a topic specialization in aging. A’Niyah is passionate about advocating for mental wellness and increasing graduate recruitment of historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) speech-language pathology students.
Amber Blaylock is a second-year graduate student in Ohio State University’s M.A. Speech Language Pathology program. She is currently pursuing a specialization in voice/singing health and aspires to build a career that allows her to treat a variety of vocal needs (voice disorders, gender affirming voice therapy, dialect modification). Additionally, Amber is passionate about recruiting more people of color to the field of Speech Pathology, as she strongly believes that the field would benefit from an influx of professionals from culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds.
We hope you will join your colleagues at our hour-long, virtual gathering to discuss, share, and collaborate on topics of interest in our field. You can network with friends and professionals across the state through our live, interactive, informative platform!
Space will be available for the first 100 registrants who register and arrive for the session. Door prizes will be awarded! Registration will close at 4:30 the day of the event or when the session reaches maximum capacity, whichever comes first! To register, go to https://www.ohioslha.org/professional-resources/
