Q: Can Anyone Submit a Call for Papers Submission and Do I Need to Fill in the Information and Submit it Electronically?

A: We invite ALL professionals in the speech, speech science and audiology fields to submit research or therapy-focused professional content for our consideration.  We also welcome and encourage submissions from presenters in related fields; professional, ethics, business, management, leadership, scheduling/time management, administration, billing/coding, supervision, technology, OT, PT and more… Opportunities also occasionally exist for poster submissions from students and professionals in the speech, speech science and audiology fields of study!  All submissions must be made using the submission forms available on our website before the specified deadlines.  Any questions should be directed to us via the contact avenues on our website before making your submission.

Learning Academy Attendance Questions

Q: Will OSLHA Offer On-Site Registration Options for Live CE Events?

A: We are pleased to offer on-site registration options for any live event where seating remains available.  We will post notifications on our Learning Academy/CE programming webpages prior to evet dates if on-site registration will be offered. On-site registrations accepted will be limited to the number of seats available and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.  On-site registration pricing is often higher than pre-registering and may not include meals or other accommodations typically available when pre-registering.

Q: When Can I Gain Access To View/Print CE Course Handouts?

A: Handouts will be submitted by our speakers prior to pre-recorded, webinar and live CE program start dates.  Handouts will then be formatted and made available as quickly as possible and will appear next to your course selections in your agenda when logged into our CE Participant Portal at  Speakers also reserve the right to exclusively disseminate hardcopy handouts at live sessions so if you do not see a handout with your live event activities, inquire with your presenter at the start of their course.

Q: How Are Attendance Codes Used During The OSLHA Online CE Courses/Activities?

A: As you may have experienced at other independent CE activities, OSLHA validates course attendance and confirms attendee course changes with the use of course attendance codes.  Due to the popularity of our live CE events, reviewing course sign-in sheets for individual attendance is not an effective method of attendance verification.  Instead, attendance codes given during courses integrates nicely with our online attendance system and allows us to get your certificate of attendance and ASHA/AAA registries updated with onsite course changes very shortly after our event concludes.

OSLHA will follow our typical attendance code process during our online CE programming activities.  Codes will be given during the presentation (location varies for each presentation) and will need to be entered into your attendee portal under the “Verify Attendance” button by the published program conclusion dates.

Q: When Will I Get My Confirmation of CE Completion?

A: We Register Regular, Ethics and Supervision Courses Separately with Professional Registries to Ensure Your Participation is Categorized for Your Licensure Renewal and Credentialing Needs.  Therefore, You Will See Your Attendance Listed by Category/Content Type in Registry Listings AND You Will Receive Separate Certificates for Each Type of Course Category You Complete!

These Distinctive Certificates May be Handed Out at the Conclusion of LIVE Events and Will Be Sent to Registered Participants by Email after the Conclusion of ONLINE Event Dates.  If you do not see yours in your inbox, be sure to check your spam/junk folder and mark us as a safe email sender to ensure you successfully receive future emails from us in your inbox.

If you purchased ASHA and/or AAA Registry Processing Services, they are named on your CE Participant Portal.  It may be up to 8 weeks before your registry reflects your attendance and it is possible these facilities are operating under work from home orders and may be experiencing additional delays in data entry. Please contact them to inquire if you have questions about when your participation will be reflected in their systems.

A: We are pleased to offer early registration options for many of our CE events to give attendees an opportunity to secure desired options early and often at discounted prepurchase prices.  In doing so, there may be risks associated with the possibility of you needing to cancel your participation.  Our tiered refund policy allows those who preregister at a cost-savings some options for a full or partial refund until the final preregistration date.  After that time, unfortunately, your attendance is accounted for and reserved with the host venue and we are unable to make any refund available for ANY reason; including illness, injury and weather-related circumstance.
